Lake Nona Tops 300 New Home Sales in 2012

The community’s neighborhoods have the most active sales totals in the region

Lake Nona Property Holdings announced its strongest new home sales totals in over seven years, with more than 300 homes contracted across the community’s active neighborhoods – Laureate Park, Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, VillageWalk and Water’s Edge – through August.  This activity, coupled with an earlier report by Metrostudy (an area market research firm), makes Lake Nona the most active new home community in the Orlando market.

“We are definitely seeing a major uptick in activity this year,” said Lake Nona Vice President Rob Adams. “Lake Nona is a special place, and people continue to recognize the value of living here.  We are especially pleased with the early sales pace at Laureate Park, our newest neighborhood right next to Lake Nona Medical City.”

The latest Metrostudy construction starts report confirmed the strong activity seen at Lake Nona with 221 annual new home starts through the second quarter of 2012.  This was the highest total in the Orlando market area.

Adams stated that the increased activity reflects the quality of Lake Nona’s increasingly diverse housing options and its unparalleled location that is rich with amenities and amidst the burgeoning Lake Nona Medical City employment base.

In late 2011, Lake Nona added its newest residential community with Laureate Park, one of the nation’s most environmentally friendly communities featuring homes with modern transitional architecture styles and high levels of technology and sustainability. The neighborhood offers homes from the $200s by Ashton Woods Homes, David Weekley Homes, K. Hovnanian Homes and Minto Communities.   Laureate Park’s innovative product lines and amenities have been another draw for Lake Nona buyers. An innovative partnership with GE is bringing state-of-the-art, energy-efficient appliances and energy management systems to the community.  Dais Communications has introduced fiber-to-home technology to Laureate Park, bringing its residents gigabit Internet connections – the fastest residential Internet connections available in Orlando.

Beyond Laureate Park, Lake Nona offers a diverse variety of housing options throughout the 7,000-acre community.  New home offerings range from exclusive estate homes of Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, to waterfront and natural beauty with Water’s Edge, to resort-style living and canal front landscapes at VillageWalk, or to the amenity-rich neighborhood of NorthLake Park.
