At Lake Nona, we have a healthy respect for, well…health. 44 planned miles of paved and unpaved trails will encourage residents to get out and enjoy nature. Lake Nona sponsored events like RUNNONA and the ADA Tour de Cure take exercising one step further and benefit great causes. Our community gardens will promote healthy eating and our partnership with GE’s Homes Inspired by ecomagination ™ program means we’re building healthier homes with lower emissions.
And we’re not stopping there. Our commitment to healthy communities has inspired the creation of the Lake Nona Institute. The Institute was founded in 2010 to incubate, activate and measure the impact of innovative technologies and programs that can become global models for building healthy, sustainable and inspired communities. Innovation within each of these areas will be advanced by utilizing Lake Nona as a living laboratory to model solutions for challenging issues including wellness and health prevention strategies. We believe that communities and the people who live in them can have a profound impact shaping the overall heath and lifestyle of their neighborhoods.
Lake Nona residents will have opportunities to participate in research, personalized wellness programs, and even have hands on experiences with emerging technologies that will raise awareness on adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyles.
