Check out the latest pictures of the construction at Lake Nona’s newest neighborhood, Laureate Park. Six model homes are well underway and will debut this fall. Home builders at Laureate Park include Ashton Woods Homes, David Weekley Homes, and K. Hovnanian Homes.
The UCF College of Medicine will be hosting a Community Open House on Sunday, October 16 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is free, open to the public, and will feature health and wellness presentations, family activities and food. Lake Nona Middle School recently opened its classroom doors to its first group of students at the start of the 2011-12 school year.
The new Orange County Public School is led by Principal Jennifer Cupid-McCoy and has a total enrollment of 1,180 students. Lake Nona Middle School’s colors are black and gold and its mascot is the knight, similar to another Lake Nona educational partner – UCF.
The entrance to Lake Nona’s newest community, Laureate Park, is already taking shape. Laureate Park offers the closest residences to the thousands of jobs at Medical City. Furnished models are set to open this fall.

World-Class Veterans Memorial to Honor More Than 1,100 Central Florida Fallen Heroes
Lake Nona finalized a 99-year lease agreement with the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park Foundation, Inc. (CFVMPF) for the construction of a world-class veterans memorial to be located adjacent to the new Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona Medical City.
The world-class memorial will honor the more than 1,100 veterans from Orange, Lake, Brevard, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned.
