UCF College of Medicine Students Hold Relay Race to Celebrate New Campus at Lake Nona
The day after finishing their final exams, students from UCF College of Medicine’s charter class will run a 25-mile relay race on Thursday, May 27 to celebrate the college’s move later this summer to the new UCF Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona.
The students will run in shifts of two-to-four runners, starting at the UCF Reflecting Pond at the Orlando campus at 6:00 a.m. and finishing up at Tavistock Green in Lake Nona. About 20 students are expected to run the final leg of the race, which is set to begin at about 9:30 a.m. on Lake Nona Boulevard, about 2 miles north of the new campus.
UCF’s doctors-in-training have been collecting sponsorships from family and friends for each mile they run. Proceeds will be donated to the College of Medicine Scholarship Fund.
